Taiwanese Young Professionals & Entrepreneurs Association of British Columbia (TYPEABC), along with Worldwide Taiwanese Student Alliance, presented a special lecture to help Taiwanese young people pursue successful careers in the U.S. on March 4th, 2020.
The speech, delivered by Danny Chen, President of the Taiwanese American Lawyers Association (TALA) and Orange County Chinese American Chamber (OCCACC), attracted more than 30 young overseas compatriots and Taiwanese students. The attendees also included President Angie Tsai of Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in BC (TCCBC), President Josh Hung, and Deputy President Jason Cheng of TYPEABC.
President Chen, born in Taiwan and growing up in Canada, graduated from Michigan State University College of Law and now works as a lawyer in California, New York, and D.C. He encouraged the young audience to try out different careers for all life experiences that would pave the way for future success.
In his speech, President Chen shared experiences of helping international students, multinational companies, and immigrant families in the U.S. Besides, Kevin, an accountant in California, joined the speech via the internet to address some practical problems that immigrants may face regarding tax regulations.
