The Culture Center of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta is located in Chamblee, Georgia. The total area is 0.4559 acres. The land was donated by TPA Ltd in 1988. The building construction was charged by BES Engineering Corporation and was finished in 1989. The building was rent US$1 for 5 years by Chinese Community Center. Therefore, the first name of the building was called Atlanta Chinese Community Center. In 1994, Chinese Community Center had difficulties to operate its funding. The operating of the center went back to OCAC (Overseas Community Affairs Council, Republic of China (Taiwan). The center was renamed Culture Center of Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Atlanta and was approved to be a sub-organization of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta by US government in 1996.
The mission of the Culture Center of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta is to provide diversified services to our expatriates in Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina , Kentucky and Tennessee. Our services include liaison services, overseas compatriot education promotion and overseas compatriot operated business development. The Center also aims to promote the Taiwanese culture and enhance the interaction with the mainstream society.
