In the spirit of giving, the FASCA Washington D.C. Chapter organized a food charity donation drive throughout October, collaborating with four Mandrin schools to collect an impressive 650 items and over 550 pounds of food.
The participating schools actively promoted the food drive within their communities and campuses, aiming to gather essential supplies for families in need before Thanksgiving. The dedicated volunteers, who handled everything from brainstorming ideas to crafting donation boxes and sorting the collected items, gathered a diverse range of food items, including canned goods, noodles, dry goods, and snacks.
On the afternoon of November 20, the generous donations were delivered to the Manna Food Center food bank in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The organization will then distribute the supplies to underserved communities within the area. Manna Food Center expressed gratitude for FASCA-DC's enthusiastic support, noting that these contributions will enable many families to enjoy a Thanksgiving with food and warmth.
